Areté has over twenty years of experience modeling, developing, designing, integrating, and testing passive electro-optical systems, ranging from small to large-format focal planes in the visible through long-wave imaging bands.
Test platforms for these systems have included the DHC-6 “Twin Otter”, Grob G-520 “Egrett”, Boeing Insitu “ScanEagle”, King Air 65-A90, Raytheon Beechcraft King Air 300 and the Bell H1.
Such development includes the Areté patented Streak Tube Imaging LIDAR (STIL), which is currently in production in our Tucson facility. This sensor is employed by U.S. Navy Mine Countermeasure Systems such as the Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS), the AN/AQS-20A Electro-Optical Identification sensor and the AN/DVS-1 Coastal Battlefield Reconnaissance and Analysis (COBRA) payload on the MQ-8B Fire Scout VTUAV.
