July 27, 2022

SSBN SECURITY TECHNOLOGY (SSTP)

The Office of Naval Research executes the SSBN Security Technology Program (SSTP) to study physics-based signature mechanisms and sensor technologies that can individually, or as a system, impact the security of the SSBN and submarines in general. Research and development primarily consists of applied research related to SSBN, SSN and SSGN vulnerability assessment which supports other programs under operational systems development. This work also supports the Navy’s interest in advanced naval platform performance science and technology (S&T), advanced naval platform survivability S&T, and submarine S&T. Areté has been a long-term provider of innovative analysis in support of the program.

Areté was awarded a $19,854,666 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for maritime remote sensing. This contract provides for the investigation of previously unexplored phenomenology and emerging technology relevant to the mission of the Submarine Ballistic Missile Nuclear Powered (SSBN) Security Technology Program (SSTP). Areté is proud to support “the silent service” in keeping our nation safe!
